Comida kosher casera, como la de tu abuela.
Roast chicken with shatter-crisp skin. Brisket braised for six hours. Hand-braided challah, cloud-soft matzo balls, kugel like the bubbe used to make. Made from scratch every morning in our Brooklyn kitchen.

Three generations,one kitchen.
Tov Umaitiv began in 1978 when Rivke Klein started selling Friday-night roast chicken out of her Midwood kitchen. Neighbors came for the chicken. They stayed for the kugel.
Today her grandchildren run the counter on Avenue M — but the recipes haven't moved an inch. The same hand-braided challah. The same six-hour brisket. The same promise that what leaves this kitchen is b'shert: meant to feed your family like it feeds ours.
“Tradición en cada bocado.”
Made by hand, every morning
Our challah is hand-braided before sunrise. Matzo balls are rolled by hand. Brisket is trimmed and salted in-house. No frozen, no shortcuts.
Strict VKF hashgacha
Under the Vaad HaKashrus of Flatbush. Glatt kosher. Meat and dairy prepared in separate kitchens with separate utensils, always.
Family first, since 1978
Three generations of one family. Same recipes. Same counter. Same promise: food you can trust for your Shabbat table.

What Brooklyn is saying
“We used Tov Umaitiv for our son's bris — the catering tray was abundant, beautiful, and everyone asked where the food was from. Under strict hashgacha, which gave us total peace of mind.”

“Their challah is the closest thing to my late wife's recipe that I have ever tasted. I buy two every Friday — one for the meal, one for French toast Saturday morning.”

“When my mother was sick, Tov Umaitiv delivered matzo ball soup to her door and refused payment. That's the kind of place this is. The food is beshert.”

“The brisket tastes exactly like my grandmother's. I cried at the first bite. Tov Umaitiv has saved our Shabbat dinners more times than I can count.”

“Best kugel in Brooklyn, hands down. The Friday Night Roast Chicken is legendary in our family. We order every week without fail.”

“Solid kosher deli. Latkes are crispy, knishes are flaky, and the line moves fast even on Friday afternoon. My only complaint? They sell out of rugelach by 2pm. Get there early.”
